We are looking to recruit Residential Mentors at Bramall Court and Charlotte Court for September 2018 - July 2019.
Whilst most students who come to Sheffield Hallam transition well into uni life; those who do experience difficulties have access to a number of support services. Recently, the increase in mental health cases has overwhelmed university wellbeing services; waiting lists are long and on occasion students can't access crucial support when dealing with problems.
Through the Residential Mentoring project, eight volunteer student mentors will be recruited and trained to deliver basic counselling, including mental health awareness, how to deal with culture shock, drug and alcohol awareness, and resilience. Mentors will provide support and info about university services, arrange and communicate social events to other residents.
All Residential Mentors are required to live on site at either Bramall Court or Charlotte Court and will receive a 50% rebate of their accommodation fees!
If you are interested in becoming a Residential Mentor drop us an email to email@example.com for more info, but be quick - the closing date is Friday 27th April 2018!
*The selection event for this role will be held on Wednesday 16th May.
