Edinburgh is a magical place during the winter. As always, there's a whole host of events happening across the city in preparation for Christmas.

Ice Adventure: A Journey Through Frozen Scotland
Walk through Scotland's history and see some amazing ice and snow sculptures.
When? 17 November - 24 December

Ice Skating
Skate around the Melville Monument on the circular ice rink in St Andrew Square.
When? 16 November - 5 January 

La Clique Noël
From circus, comedy, cabaret, variety, magic, burlesque and subversive performance clubs and a live band, La Clique Noël is a definite Christmas treat. 
When? 17 November - 5 January

Christmas Markets
On both East Princes Street Gardens & George Street. The traditional markets will be open from 10am - 10pm but will open at 1pm on the 17th.
When? 17 November - 5 January 

Winter Windows
Spread out over the city in five new locations; St Giles, West Parliament Square, Leith’s Kirkgate Plaza, Craigmillar Library Plaza, Drumbrae Library and Westside Plaza. Each window themed for the 2050 Edinburgh City Vision. 
When? 17 November - 26 December

Light Night
The big one! This is when all the lights will be switched on along with the Christmas tree on the Mound. Stick around for fireworks from 5pm too. 
When? 18 November, 3pm

Embrace the cold, wrap up warm and enjoy the start of Christmas in Edinburgh.
