Top Five Bonfire Nights in Coventry and West Midlands

There’s a range of dramatic displays across Coventry and the West Midlands for you to enjoy this bonfire night. So get yourselves all cosy and wrapped up in your scarfs, hats and mittens and get ready for Bonfire night!

1. Kenilworth Castle

Kenilworth Saturday 3rd November 2018

The grounds of Kenilworth Castle are a stunning setting to watch a firework display. Watch a magical 30 minute display of fireworks against the majestic backdrop of the castle walls. There’s also a bonfire on the night which you can warm yourself against and a smaller display of warm up fireworks, with plenty of food and drink stalls too. So you can gorge on hotdogs and toffee apples.

Kenilworth is also easy to get to from Coventry by car and public transport. The train takes less than 10 minutes from Coventry or you can hop on the x17 bus from Trinity Street  outside Sainsburys.

2.Old Coventrians RFC

Tile Hill Lane, Coventry, West Midlands, CV4 9DE 4th November 2018

Old Coventrians RFC gates open at 5pm and the bonfire is lit at 6pm. The main firework display then starts at 7.00pm.

Adults £4.00, Children under 16 £2.00, Family £10.00 (i.e. 2 adults and up to 3 children).

There’s also a bar so you can have a cheeky drink and food on sale too.

3.Best of British at Drayton Manor

Tamworth Friday 2nd November - Sunday 4th November 2018

Drayton Manor is hosting a British themed bonfire night to celebrate a year of big events within the royal family. They’re lighting up the skys white, blue and red in a patriotic firework display whilst listening to a range of typically British tracks - The Beatles, Oasis, Take That, Spice Girls and more.

The firework display will begin at 7pm but the park will be open until 9pm for you to enjoy the rides. Enjoy the adrenaline thrill of Accelerator, the action-packed rollercoaster adventure or the 54 meter drop - Apocalypse. There’s also Thomas Land if you wanted something not as terrifying.

4. Firework Festival Weekend at West Midlands Safari Park

Saturday 10th November - Sunday 11th November 2018

West Midlands Safari Park has one of the biggest displays in the West Midlands and you can combine a day out seeing the animals and then stick around at night to watch the fireworks. The park opens from 1.00pm and you can enjoy walking through different areas including the brand new Ice Age, Land of the Living Dinosaurs, Lorikeet Landing, Creepy Crawlies, Mark O’Shea’s Reptile World, African Village and the Sea Lion show.

The bonfire is lit at 5.45pm and the last entry 6.00pm. The fireworks start at 6.30pm and you can enjoy the rides until 9.00pm.

5. Warwick Racecourse

Saturday 3rd November 2018

Warwick is only half an hour away from Coventry on the train. Take the chance to mooch about Warwick’s quaint town with it’s castle, historic tea rooms and independent shops before heading over to the bonfire display at the racecourse. Gates open at 4.30pm and there will be a small display which starts at 6pm followed by the main display at 6.40pm.There will be a range of food and drink stalls so you can stay warm with a mulled wine while you watch the display.
