Budget Christmas Present Ideas
We don’t all have a bottomless pit of money to spend on Christmas presents but you can create a range of thoughtful gifts that you don’t have to blow your student loan on. So you can spend more money on Christmas drinks! Check out some ideas below on how to create unforgettable gifts.
Hamper’s don’t just need to be food based, you can create lovely pamper hampers for your friends and loved ones. Wooden hampers can be relatively cheap to buy (check out Iceland/The Works and Hobby Craft) and you can fill them up with a range of treats. Add little hot chocolate sachets, facepacks, bath bombs and a dvd and you have a lovely girls night in hamper.
If you want to create a hamper for your parents, grandparents or anyone in your family, you could have a go at making a food hamper. Think about all of their favourites, it can be as weird and wonderful as you like. Whether they love nandos sauce, a certain type of beer or love a certain tea. Packing a hamper with their favourite foods is a fun present but also shows how much you know them!
You could even try baking and making a load of treats including mince pies, sausage rolls and some homemade jam.
Nothing is more personal than a photo based Christmas present. You can create your own Calendar on anything like Photobox, FunkyPigeon or Vista Print and there are 50% offers on at the moment.
If you’re super creative, perhaps you could paint a loved one something. It could be their favourite place or a design you know that matches a certain room in their house. Handcrafted jewelry boxes are also lovely to make. If you’re better at the written word, you could perhaps write a poem for a loved one and get it designed up, printed and framed.
Scrabble picture prints are really easy to make and only cost a few quid. You can buy the tiles from the The Works, spell out a message and stick it to the back of a box photo frame and cover it in glass and you have a bespoke gift.
Memory Jars are a really cute gift to get people at Christmas too. Add anything from the year including cinema tickets, train tickets, photos, little quotes or funny things that have happened and write these onto pieces of card. Tie the jar with a ribbon and you have a memorable gift right there.
